The Costa Cálida (or known as the Warm Coast) forms 250km of the Mediterranean coastline in the province of Murcia. The region has its own micro-climate which means it keeps warm annual temperatures which gives its name the warm coast. The Costa Cálida spans from El Mojón in the north close to the Alicante province to Águilas in the south on the borders of Almería province. Two important coastal towns in this region are Cartagena and Mazarrón.
